Chief Accountant

AMCO S.A. is currently looking for a Chief Accountant that will be responsible for the formation and maintenance of the company’s accounting policy, management of accounting and financial reporting activities, implementation of financial standards and adaptation to local legal regulations.

The Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions / Monitor and analyze accounting data
• Generate Financial Reports / Preparation of financial statements
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles according to Greek law and regulations
• Ensuring compliance with Tax Requirements & obligations, follow up to new legislations
• Monitoring of payroll procedures
• Support and supervision in end of year Accounting & Tax obligations(Income Tax declaration etc)

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• BS degree in Accounting, Economics or relevant
• Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
• In-depth understanding of IFRS
• Experience with import/export documentation, such as letter of credits, certificates of origin, export permissions
• Hands-on experience in financial reporting, including tax and statutory reporting
• Experience with ERP accounting systems – Navision is preferable
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Excellent command of the English language
• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle many different tasks
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and communicate with the business
• Drive to solve problems, identify options and propose a reasoned solution
• Self-reliant, proactive and highly motivated
